Yeison is a Colombian composer, music producer, and conductor based in Vienna, working at the intersection of film music, concert music, and interdisciplinary performance. His artistic practice focuses on creating immersive soundscapes and innovative musical formats that expand how audiences experience music beyond traditional concert settings.
With a strong background in media composition and film scoring, he approaches sound as a narrative and dramaturgical element, shaping emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling with clarity and expressive depth. His work combines orchestral writing, contemporary techniques, and electronic elements with influences from Colombian and Latin American traditional music, supported by experience in music production and creative audio editing for audiovisual projects.
Alongside his work for film and media, Yeison maintains an active career as a concert composer and conductor. His music has been performed internationally in Austria, Germany, Spain, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia, and has received multiple national and international awards.
A central aspect of his practice is the development of new concert formats and audience-oriented projects. His work often integrates music, visuals, space, and theatrical elements to create accessible and engaging performances.
Yeison is completing a Master of Arts in Composition and Media Composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and holds a Bachelor's degree in Composition (Summa cum laude) from the National University of Colombia. He currently works as a Student Assistant and Project Manager in Media Composition at mdw, where he combines artistic production, audio editing, and the organization of recording sessions and concerts.
His work is driven by a commitment to creating meaningful sonic experiences that connect music, image, and performance, and resonate emotionally with diverse audiences.
